BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DH AND ITS USES AND BENEFITS

Doubled Haploid (DH) technology enables development of completely homozygous inbred lines with in two cycles compared to six to eight cycles in conventional inbred lines development method of recurrent selfing. DH lines in maize breeding programs enhance the breeding efficiency and increases the genetic gains per unit time.
